Morris’s Contour Drill gets your crops off to the best start possible, allows more efficient use of your land, and delivers overall fuel savings. The Contour Drill opener has a ½” wide vertical edge-on shank which has minimal soil disturbance whilst allowing maximum soil penetration, excellent trash flow and low draft requirements.
The independent contour opener features parallel linkage for ultra precise seed and fertilizer placement. Each opener moves independently of the frame and of each other to closely follow every contour of the land. The true parallelogram linkage maintains a constant opener angle relative to the soil and constant opener depth in relation to the packer wheel throughout it’s range of travel. This combined with the most compact opener in the industry ensures unsurpassed seed placement for quick, even germination and durability.
To fully utilise the new Contour Drill, Romani Pastoral Company wanted to be able to change from sowing winter crops on 15” spacing’s to sowing summer crops on 30” spacing’s, quickly and easily. Morris were able to do this by adding a second row lock out function controlled at the front of the bar by two ball valves which lock out every second row unit when planting on 30” spacing. A double acting hydraulic cylinder on each opener raises and lowers them from working to transport position and pressure is maintained through a passive hydraulic system that uses a unique hydraulic accumulator system reducing the demand on the tractor hydraulics. Trip out pressure can be adjusted from the tractor cab from 100lb to 600lb of trip out force. A convenient easy-to-read digital display is provided in the cab.

The Morris Eight Series XL Air Cart design is second to none. With high clearance underneath the frame, built in frame strength, excellent accessibility and ease of use, the Eight Series XL air carts are built to keep on performing effortlessly year in, year out.
To make sure that product metering accuracy was maintained on Romani Pastoral Companies 8370XL air cart when changing from 15” to 30” spacing’s, Morris designed the tillage distribution system to be easily changed over without blocking outlets on heads. This is done at the air cart on the primary distribution lines by inserting a divider that brings the two lines together into one. This still allows the air cart to be able to blend product if necessary and maintain higher rate outputs.
All Eight Series XL air carts come standard with 10” load/unloading augers, tank shut off, blending capability, walk-through tank design and spiral fluted metering wheels for constant flow of product into the air stream and will accurately meter grass, canola and other fine seed right up to larger pulse crops and everything in between. Drives are available in either ground or VRT with Vansco or Topcon for monitors and controllers and configurations are available in tow between or tow behind.
Morris use a unique patented flat fan divider head on it’s tillage distribution kits which is very gentle and maintains a smooth horizontal flow of product into each secondary run. There are no abrupt directional changes and this results in an accurate and efficient air delivery system. Morris also match the number of outlets on the flat fan divider heads to the width of the spiral fluted metering wheels to optimise metering accuracy of products.
Sizes are available from two tank 8,550 litres up to four tank 23,011 litres with liquid fertilizer options on most.
